FEI Entry Information

 

The United States Equestrian Federation has approved our application to hold an international event in conjunction with the 2009 AERC National Championship Ride.

If you are not qualified to enter the AERC National Chamionship, you may enter the FEI ride with the following conditions:

1. Submit the AERC entry form and fees, receiving mileage credit for completion
2. Be willing to sponsor a junior rider, should the need arise.
3. Stay with your junior rider per AERC rules
4. Submit the FEI entry form and fees

You may download your FEI event entry form here. Also complete the Rider Declaration of Eligibility and the FEI Endurance Log Sheet. You will sign waivers at the ride when you receive your ride packet.

RULES & REGULATIONS

?Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.?

 

RIDE RULES SUMMARY (NOT INCLUSIVE):

** NOTE DOG RULE #16

1. All AERC equines must be at least 60 months old for the 50+ mile rides, and 48 months old for the 30 mile Limited Distance ride. All FEI equines must be at least 6 years (72 months) old for the 1 * and 2* distances, and 7 years of age for the 3*.

2. Junior riders (under 16 as of 12/1/08) must be accompanied by an adult (21 years of age or older) who entered the ride and agrees to remain within 1 minute of the minor throughout the ride. Junior riders will not be permitted to start or continue on from any point of the ride without the original sponsor, unless the sponsor is retired from the ride and makes arrangements with ride management for the minor to continue

with another adult sponsor. This change of sponsor must occur at a vet check.

3. Junior riders must wear an approved helmet.

4. All equines must be presented for a pre-ride veterinary inspection.

5. Abuse, over riding, or the use of stimulants and/or painkillers of the horse is prohibited.

6. All equines are subject to drug testing by either by saliva, urine or blood.

7. No substances of any type may be injected by needle into the equine during the competition.

8. Any equine testing positive for drugs will be disqualified.

9. All riders must stay on the marked course and ride the loops in the correct order. If lost or off course, rider has the choice to return on course or will be disqualified.

10. All competitors are totally responsible for self, crew and equine before, during and after the endurance ride and the limited distance ride.

11. All Veterinary & Ride Management decisions are final.

12. To receive a completion for the ride, all equines must be ?FIT TO CONTINUE? at the post-ride veterinary inspection.

13. Entrants or their crews, who are in any way rude or insulting to vets, ride management, volunteers, or local landowners, will risk disqualification of their Rider..

14. All riders and/or owners of treated horses are responsible for all vet costs and will pay them directly to the treatment vet, or make arrangements with said vet for payment BEFORE leaving the ride premises

 

 

 

Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all

classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or

above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage,

Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may

participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at

Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining

Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30

nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from

the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4)

classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are

classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory

level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining

Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in

English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation,

10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage

Sport Horse Breeding classes. EC 7/21/08 Effective 12/1/08

 

-No prize money to be awarded

 

-Minors who do not have a valid driver?s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed  competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver?s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other motility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

Refund Policy:  No shows will get NO refund -- no exceptions!

 

Competitors are responsible to provide own temporary portable housing for all horses, crew, grooms, and riders. Horse water will be available. No RV hookups available. Shower and bathroom facilities  on grounds. Lunch and snacks provided for the riders during rides days. Banquet dinners available for ride evenings. Restaurants in town of Greenville, five minutes from ride site.

 

Horses coming from out of state will need to show current negative Coggins test to enter California.

 

Returned checks will be assessed a $50 fee by ride management.

 

Competitors will be held financially responsible for repair/replacement of any property damage done by themselves, their equines, or their crew/grooms to ride camp site, trail, surrounding property, or vet check sites.

AERC and USEF membership cards shall be presented at rider check in, which will open at 12:00 Thursday, September 10, 2009. Office will close at 4PM Thursday, September 10.

 

Protests will be handled in accordance with FEI/USEF/AERC rules.

 

Discourtesy to  or disobedience of officials and judges, by riders and /or crews/grooms may result in disqualification of horse and rider.

 

Method of start: mass start

 

Warm up area has footing similar to that of course: dirt field and dirt road

 

No post entries accepted

 

Competitors are responsible to know and comply with all AERC and USEF rules and equine medication policies, including proper attire for FEI entrants

Smoking in designated areas of ride camp only. NO SMOKING ON TRAIL.

 

All FEI horses will be required to have current passport, and will be subject to appropriate veterinary exams and inspections, as per FEI/USEF/AERC rules. This includes controls regarding current influenza vaccinations.

All horses and ponies for which an FEI Passport, or a National Passport approved by the FEI has been issued, must have the vaccination section endorsed by a veterinarian, stating that it has received two injections for primary vaccination against equine influenza, given between 1 and 3 months apart. In addition, a booster injection must be recorded as having been given within each succeeding 6 months, subsequent to the second injection of the primary vaccination. None of these injections must have been given within the preceding 7 days including the day of the competition or of entry into the competition stables.

The above are the minimum requirements for influenza vaccination. Both primary and first and subsequent booster injections should be given according to the manufacturer's instructions which will fall within the stipulation of the FEI ruling.

 

VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS, HORSE INSPECTIONS & PASSPORT CONTROLS

These will be carried out in accordance with the ?Veterinary Regulations?, Art. 1011 & the discipline rules.

 

Horses may be subject to medication control sampling, of either blood or urine or both

From the north: SR-36 from Redding/SR-147 from Susanville, take SR-89 southbound towards Greenville; in Greenville turn left onto Main St. Turn left onto Williams Valley Rd. Turn left onto Upper Williams Valley Rd. and follow to the end. Follow signs into Coppercreek Camp.
>From the south: SR-70 eastbound from Chico/SR-70 westbound from I-395-Nevada, take SR-89 northbound to Greenville. Turn right onto Main St. Turn left onto Williams Valley Rd. Turn left onto Upper Williams Valley Rd. and follow to the end. Follow signs into Coppercreek Camp.
